The Company

At Alpine Scenic 4×4 Tours, we prefer the road less traveled. “Adventure farther” is our motto.

All of our half day tours give you 4 hours of exciting sightseeing, no matter which destination you choose. We keep our best tours close to Ouray, so there is very little highway travel. We strive to avoid crowded areas and explore little known side roads whenever possible.

During your tour, our knowledgable guides will share information about historical sites, geological features, local wildlife, flora and fauna over our onboard PA system. Stops are made to allow you to take photos or short scenic walks, but we don’t hang out in any one place for too long unless it is requested – there’s a lot to see so let’s get out and explore!

WE SPECIALIZE IN GUIDED TOURS, ONLY – WE DO NOT RENT JEEPS OR ATV’s!

The Equipment

Our 9-seat group tour trucks are modified Dodge Ram 4×4 beasts with lifted and modified suspension systems to give YOU the most comfortable ride and superior views. Integrated steps make it easy to enter and exit these vehicles, so everyone can enjoy the scenic wonders of the San Juan Mountains. The passenger seating area in these trucks is complete with individual bucket seats, with lots of leg room. None of our competitors offer bucket seating…life is too short to sit on a bench!

We have 4 private tour vehicles – all of which are Jeep brand! All of these vehicles offer comfortable rides with convertible tops to keep you warm and dry no matter what the weather has in store. Our Jeep Gladiators are equipped with 2 bucket seats in the rear seating area for awesome views.
